K SHIVASHANKAR

K.Shivashankar founded the practice in 1988, and over the course of three decades he has established a unique portfolio of projects significant in their scale, materiality and attention to detail. He lives by the architectural principle that construction personifies design; and they form a symbiotic relationship supported by his detailing capabilities and flair for experimenting with novel material techniques. His interest in construction began with his hands-on experience at the age of 15 while assisting his father in their own private projects. The office building that is still in use today was executed in 1982 even before he commenced his formal Architectural education. His body of work ranges from modest living spaces to grand hotels, all mirroring his expertise on early preparation, sound planning and implicit execution.
